How To Pick a Real Town

Mike VineMaking The Move

For those of you considering a move to the Seacoast, I want to share with you all a trick I’ve learned.

We all know how hard it is to get a sense of a town just by looking it up online. Many places sound great on Wikipedia or City-Data, but then you get there and they aren’t at all what you’re looking for.

My secret is to type the town name into Google Images and see what comes up. You can usually get a sense of what’s important about a town by what photos float to the top of those searches. This is especially useful if you’d like to find out if a town has real street life, is just a historical relic, or has no downtown at all.

Let us know in the comments if this technique works (or doesn’t) for you.
