You may have seen me post about health insurance recently. Here is another update: Because of ACA, if you are an individual (or family), Anthem will only offer HMO plans to enrollees whose effective date is 1/1/14 and after. This is true for plans through Anthem directly or through Healthcare.gov. In fact, the only individual PPO plans offered will be through Assurant. This is particularly troubling for my employer, who has children going to school out of state. This will also be troubling for me and my wife when we need to re-enroll late next year. Yes, PPO plans will still be offered for groups – but group coverage will almost QUADRUPLE my premium.
If you like your plan you can keep your plan. Yeah right…
